Outotec achieved EcoVadis Gold rating in supplier CSR assessment

Outotec has achieved EcoVadis Gold certification for its corporate responsibility practices and ranked in the top 5% of suppliers in its field.

EcoVadis operates an international platform to assess the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of suppliers in respect to environment, labor practices, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Outotec reports its corporate responsibility using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, is committed to the UN Global Compact initiative and the most relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals as defined by the company. For several years, Outotec has been included in the Global 100 index of the world's most sustainable companies. 

"We are proud to be ranked amongst the top CSR performers in this comprehensive and independent assessment made by EcoVadis. Their platform serves our global customers very well, as in large projects the supply chain management and suppliers' commitment to corporate responsibility is extremely important, both for our customers and for Outotec. We are committed to continuously improve our business practices and performance", says Outotec CEO Markku Teräsvasara.

EcoVadis has assessed over 30,000 companies from 150 sectors and 110 countries. Its methodology and criteria used are in line with international CSR standards including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), UN Global Compact, and ISO 26000.

Outotec outsourced some project engineering activities to Citec

Outotec has finalized the negotiations with employee representatives announced on October 26, 2017 to outsource its German-based project engineering function to Citec. As a result of the negotiations, 59 Outotec employees have transferred to Citec as of April 1, 2018.
 

Outotec to deliver pelletizing technology to China

Outotec has agreed on the design and delivery of two iron ore pelletizing plants for Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. in Caofeidian, China. The contract, valued at over EUR 40 million, has been booked in Outotec's first quarter order intake.
 

Outotec to deliver modular sulfuric acid plants for Shalina Resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Outotec has been awarded a contract by Shalina Resources Limited for the delivery of advanced sulfuric acid plant technology to the Mutoshi project near Kolwezi in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The order value, approximately EUR 33 million, is booked in Outotec's 2018 first quarter order intake.
 

Outotec ranked the fifth in the Global 100 list of most sustainable companies

Outotec has been included in the Global 100 Index of most sustainable companies in the world for the sixth consecutive year. The ranking improved significantly from 90th in 2017 to 5th in the latest evaluation. The results were announced today at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
